Draft — pending counsel reviewPrivacy requests
If you live in California you can ask to know what personal information is held about you, to have it deleted or corrected, to opt out of its sale or sharing, or to limit the use of sensitive personal information. Use the form below. SCAIL is software used by credit repair businesses, so your request may be answered by one of those businesses or by SCAIL itself. The notice below says how.
Notice at collection
- We collect the name and email address you enter here, plus the optional phone number, company name and details, to check who you are and to handle your request. We also record the IP address and browser details of the submission, to prevent abuse.
- We email a confirmation link to the address you enter. It works once and expires in 7 days. A request is verified only after you open that link and confirm.
- After you confirm, we look for that email address among the clients and leads of the credit repair businesses that use SCAIL software, and among SCAIL’s own accounts and leads, to find who holds your information.
- SCAIL provides software to those businesses. For information a business holds about its own clients or leads, SCAIL acts on that business’s behalf, so we pass your request to the business and they respond to you. We do not change or remove a business’s client records ourselves. For SCAIL’s own accounts and leads, SCAIL staff handle it.
- A request to delete is reviewed and carried out by a person. Nothing is deleted automatically.
- The response is due within 45 days of the day we receive your request. If more time is needed, that can be extended once by another 45 days, and we will say why.
Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information
Credit repair software handles sensitive personal information: Social Security numbers and dates of birth are collected for the clients of the businesses that use SCAIL, and credit-monitoring and bureau login details may be stored. These fields are encrypted inside the database and decrypted only on the server. Screens show only the last four digits of a Social Security number.
You can ask to limit the use of your sensitive personal information using the request form below: choose “Limit the use of my sensitive personal information”.
